Rev. Edward H. Rather, Jr. is a native of Baltimore, Maryland.  He attended and graduated from the Baltimore City public school system in May 1988.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his LORD and Savior on Sunday, March 21, 1999 at Holy Rock Christian Community Church where he served faithfully and worked in many ministries (Usher, Trustee, Street and Prison Ministries).

In June 2005, Rev. Rather graduated from the Baltimore School of the Bible with a Diploma and two certificates:  Standard Church Ministries and Foundational Church Ministries.

​

He accepted his call into the Gospel Ministry and preached his initial sermon on April 3, 2005 where he also received his license to preach the Gospel.  After three years as the Associate Minister of Holy Rock Christian Community Church, he was ordained to the work of The Gospel Ministry by the authority and order of the Holy Rock Christian Community Church on March 16, 2008.

In June 2010, he was installed as the Assistant Pastor of Holy Rock Christian Community Church.  On March 28, 2014, Rev. Rather was installed as Pastor of Holy Rock Christian Community Church and there he faithfully Pastored until September 2016.

On March 16, 2018, after much prayer, Rev. Rather accepted the commission by The Lord to plant Solomon's Porch Christian Community Church in Red Lion, PA.
